Nepal records dates of birth in Bikram Sambat (BS), but foreign schools, embassies, and employers ask for age against the Gregorian (AD) calendar — and the two do not line up neatly, because BS months run 29 to 32 days and the year begins in mid-April. This calculator does the reckoning both ways: it reports your age on the BS calendar (the count Nepali offices, Lok Sewa, and citizenship records use) and on the AD calendar (what visa and admission forms expect), so the two never quietly disagree. It reads the official Nepali panchanga month-length table, so a birthday that lands on the 32nd of a month is handled correctly. Nothing is uploaded — your date of birth stays on your device.

Can I enter my date of birth in Bikram Sambat (BS)?+

How is the age calculated?+

Your age is the time from your date of birth to today, expressed in completed years, then the leftover months, then the leftover days. Because Bikram Sambat and Gregorian months differ in length, the tool reports the age both ways: reckoned on the BS calendar and on the AD calendar. It uses the official Nepali panchanga month lengths, so month-end dates are handled correctly and the day count is never negative.

Which calendar does the “next birthday” follow?+

Why do my BS age and AD age differ by a few days?+

They describe the same span of time but break it into months of different lengths. Bikram Sambat months are 29–32 days while Gregorian months are 28–31, so the leftover “months and days” after the whole years can differ slightly. The total days lived is identical either way.

Is my date of birth kept private?+

What range of birth years does it support?+
